Top Orthopaedic Conferences To Attend In 2024
The orthopaedic realm is complex.
It works to help improve joints, ligaments, bones, and the musculoskeletal system that may have been impacted by injuries, general wear and tear, illnesses, disease, and the ageing effects placed upon our bodies.
Research, testing and innovation are fluid within this sector, and there can be constant improvements to old treatments and the creation of new ones.
What better way to showcase all that hard work and results than at an orthopaedic conference?
Naturally, hundreds of Orthopaedic events happen globally each year, so we’ve picked out the top five to attend in 2024.
25th EFORT Annual Congress
The European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology | 22 - 24 May 2024 | Hamburg, Germany
The EFORT Annual Congress hosts a comprehensive event focusing on various aspects of orthopaedics and traumatology, offering a blend of workshops, discussions, and networking opportunities.
Join this event for its 25th year and further extend your knowledge within this complex field via symposia, lectures, free papers, poster walks, courses, workshops and exhibits.
You’ll hear from the top distinguished orthopaedic speakers from across Europe who will provide scientific guidance on well-established medical techniques and highlight new evidence in emerging fields.
Experts will tell of their procedures, the reasoning behind their decisions, and the successes and failures they have endured.
The Congress is a fantastic place to gain important information on the prevention and treatment of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, with training programmes that present high scientific value that you can then put into practice.
This year’s theme is Collaborating For Success, based upon society’s founding purpose of “driving collaboration, sharing advances in knowledge and techniques” worldwide.
It’s a fantastic event for orthopaedic fellows to come together collectively as a team to help improve the lives of their patients.
The Meyer prize will also be awarded at the congress. It is a global honour to a recipient who has had a transformative impact on worldwide traumatology and orthopaedics.
It will be a jam-packed event, so it is worth planning the sessions you’d like to attend in advance so you do not miss out on anything you really want to learn.

97th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association
23 - 26 May 2024 | Fukuoka, Japan
This year's theme for the 97th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association is the Creation of Future Orthopaedics: Orthopaedic Medical Care in the Era of the 100-Year Lifespan.
This topic has been chosen due to the rise in people living to 100, meaning orthopaedic medical care will have an even more important and pivotal role in safeguarding the population (regardless of age) of orthopaedic health to give them a brighter future.
With research and results being shared via lectures, symposia, and other events within this conference, it’s a popular event for orthopaedic surgeons, scientists, and doctors to attend from across the world.
Topics will include how to appropriately include novel medical technologies such as AI, remote medicine, robots, and the use of big data in the orthopaedic medical world.
Other issues that will be discussed include how to respond to and implement new healthcare policies, which involve the reform of doctors’ working practices, gender equality of doctors and the cord certification system.
It will be a good event for not only those experienced within this healthcare sector but also those new to the orthopaedic realm so they can acquire basic knowledge of orthopaedic surgery and the possible future direction of this area of medicine.
