Is Oxford Abstracts the right peer review software for me?

Find out below what Oxford Abstracts can do for your academic conference.

Oxford Abstracts provides academic peer review software for any size of academic conference, from 1 to 10,000+ submissions. When we chat to our clients, who range from Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs), charities and association management organisations through to academic institutions, we are only too happy to answer their questions about our software. To save you the trouble of getting in touch (but please feel free to do so, at any time - we’re happy to help) here are a few of the most common questions about our academic peer review software, along with our responses.

I’m currently using email and online forms. Although I’m finding it difficult to keep on track, what will I gain from signing up to Oxford Abstracts?

For small conferences with 10-30 submissions, collecting abstracts with email and online forms is a perfectly feasible way to do things (although you might want to let our free version handle the job). However, there can be many pitfalls when it comes to organising larger events without an abstract submission platform such as ours. It can be hard to know which of the submissions are complete, especially if the submission form changes part way through the call for papers. You get a clear view of the submissions that are complete and the inbuilt email functionality will let you easily contact the authors of incomplete submissions, saving you heaps of time and hassle.

I don’t want to pay for an abstract submission platform and then find out it’s not right for me.

We appreciate it can be confusing when choosing a system to manage your peer review process, and the reluctance to commit. This is why we give free 30 day trials of our software. That way, you can really get to know the system before making any financial decisions. You get support and training during this period so you can be confident that we are the right fit for your academic conference. Email us and we'll get you set up with your free trial.

I literally have no budget! Can I still use Oxford Abstracts for my conference?

We offer a free tier of our abstract submission platform, which, although it has limitations, allows you to collect submissions and communicate with all users in the system with the email feature. You can invite and assign reviewers to the submissions, make decisions and even download abstract books. This makes it great for non-profits and universities. Get in touch and we’ll set you up.

Is Oxford Abstracts good value?

Although we’re obviously going to say ‘Of course we are!’, we suggest you make your own mind up and recommend you compare us with other providers before making any decisions. We believe our system is the most cost-effective academic peer review software on the market, but don’t take our word for it. Sign up for a demo and take a free trial to work out if it is right for you.

So - the bottom line - what do you charge?

One thing that we are very clear about is pricing. Take a look at our prices page for a breakdown of the features you get in each package. The price is per event, for unlimited abstracts, and full support (including 1-1 online tutorials) from our very experienced and friendly team. There are no hidden charges.

Although we appreciate every event is unique and has differing requirements, our abstract submission platform is both powerful and flexible enough to handle virtually any set up, no matter how complex. This is why we have a small range of packages, (with a couple of specialist bolt-ons for specific requirements - eg. MultiStage and Symposia) and a very transparent pricing structure. It avoids confusion, which is exactly what you need when making a decision on which academic peer review software provider to go with.

How do I get the best value for money from Oxford Abstracts?

We are here to help with your conference every step of the way. Once we have set you up with your event, we are available to do training via Zoom on any aspect of our software. We also have a help desk which is monitored 24 hours a day, where you can send any query and you can expect a response in 1 - 8 hours.
